The description “financial advisory services” covers a broad range of activity including services to evaluate and understand what led to a company’s poor financial performance, identify corrective actions, and establish financial projections for future performance after corrective actions were taken. These efforts were needed to either locate new financing for the company or to convince a company’s current bank to remain committed to the company with its current or an expanded loan structure.

“Financial advisory services” also includes cash management to have the time to implement improvement programs. It also includes product line profitability reviews to identify which product lines the company should continue to produce and where pricing adjustments may be justified.

The description “operational advisory services” covers a range of activity including evaluating the company’s manufacturing operations, manpower requirements, staffing reductions, realignment of job responsibilities, and the ability of the company to produce more product at lower cost.
